An Arboretum is a collection of trees and shrubs for educational or research purposes.  The California University of Pennsylvania Arboretum consists of all the trees and shrubs planted on the main campus of the university.  The arboretum contains over 360 specimens representing 76 species.  The arboretum emphasizes tree and shrubs that are native to Pennsylvania.

The mission of the California University of Pennsylvania Arboretum is to create and maintain a documented collection of native trees and shrubs that serves as an educational resource to the students of the university and the greater community.
