Workshop Details
High school students are invited to two five-hour hands-on 3D computer animation workshop, delivered by Professor Aleksandra Prokic, professor of graphics and multimedia. Workshop participants will gain access to open-source Blender software (https://www.blender.org) and learn these topics:
- Computer modeling
- Texturing
- Mapping
- Lighting
- Animation
- Special Effects
This is a hands-on workshop using the University’s multimedia lab computers. Seating is limited to 25 participants. To be considered, students must email a request and one teacher’s letter of recommendation to prokic@calu.edu. High-school students accepted to these workshops will need to commit themselves to both days.
Lunch will be provided. Parking will be available on the University campus (details to follow).
Scholarship
- At the end of the second workshop, three $500 Cal U scholarships will be awarded.
- 3 Scholarship Categories: modeling/texturing/lighting, animation/special effect, overall
- Judging by Cal U faculty and animation professionals
