Leandro
Dr. Leandro Junes is currently teaching Mathematics at California University of Pennsylvania. He got his Ph.D. in mathematics from the State University of New York at Binghamton. His research area is Combinatorial Topology, but he also works in Commutative Algebra, Finite Group Theory, Graph Theory and Mathematical Education. Dr. Junes had published several papers and earned many academic awards. He is also fluent in both English and Spanish. E-mail: junes[at]calu.edu

Dr. Rigoberto Flórez is Assistant Professor at The Citadel. He got his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Binghamton University (SUNY). His research area is Combinatorics with a focus on Matroids and Graph Theory. Professor Flórez had published several papers and earned several academic awards. He is also bilingual (English and Spanish).

Natalie Hilbert is currently a junior at California University of Pennsylvania majoring in secondary education with a concentration in mathematics. She is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta (Honors Fraternity) and the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. She is currently the secretary of FMT (Future Math Teachers) and is a peer mentor. She spends some of her time tutoring students in the Math Lab at Cal U. After graduating Cal U with her bachelor’s degree, Natalie wants to continue her education in graduate school in hopes of one day becoming a college mathematics professor. This is her first opportunity to do undergraduate research and is looking forward to this great experience.

Hello, my name is Michael Kubicek. I am a junior here at California University of Pennsylvania. My major is Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I am from Ruffsdale, Pennsylvania. I am currently 20 years old but will be turning 21 on October 17. I am currently a math tutor in the math lab here at California University of Pennsylvania. My hobbies include watching any type of sporting event, video games, singing, and many more.



Sydney
Sydney Marks is 18 years old and, as a current sophomore at California University of Pennsylvania, she is majoring in mathematics with a concentration in statistics and a minor in finance. She is currently a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, an honors fraternity on campus, and is serving as the vice president of the organization for the upcoming academic year. She is planning to complete her degree a year early and attend graduate school to obtain a master’s degree in mathematics. Upon graduation, Sydney plans to pursue a career as an actuary. She is extremely excited to have the opportunity to gain this type of research experience.



Leah
Leah Seader is a freshman at California University of Pennsylvania currently completing a dual major in Mathematics and Business. She works at the Math Lab as a tutor and is the treasurer of the Mathematics Association of America (MAA). Her passion for math and science is exemplified in her volunteer work as a judge for the Science Olympiad and for the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. Leah is a member of the Honors Fraternity Alpha Lambda Delta and is a member of the University Honors Program where she serves on the Student Honors Advisory Board as the mentoring committee chair and as a member of the service committee. She is also actively involved in the BCR Lions Club and enjoys volunteering in various community service activities for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Relay for Life, Washington City Mission, and is a deacon for First Christian Church. Leah plans to continue her education through graduate school to become an Imagineer for Walt Disney World.
