1988      	Worked as a technical writing consultant for M&J Data  Services, Milwaukee.  Revised, updated and tested user
               	manuals for different mainframe computer banking services; compiled a style guide for the Customer Documentation
               	Center.
1987-1988:    Editorial consultant, Gareth Stevens & Co., Milwaukee for children's books.

1998                 Delivered keynote address at the first Annual Convention of the Association of Technical Writers of India (TWIN) in Bombay, India.

1996                 Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Computers and Writing at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. Presented a paper on "Collaborative Writing With Computers: Software Documentation Projects for Technical Writing Classes" at a session titled Electronic Communities.

1996                 Attended Summer Academy for the Advancement of College Teaching, sponsored by the SSHE Faculty Professional Development Council at Boiling Springs, PA.

1995                 Conducted a SSHE Workshop on "Using the Internet and the World Wide Webb" for the faculty of the Nursing Department of CUP.

1991                 Conducted a five-week WordPerfect workshop for English Faculty at CUP.

1990                 Annual Convention of ISETA - The International Society for Exploring Teaching Alternatives at Indianapolis. Presented a paper on "Computer Aided Composition and Invention: How to Adapt Theory to Technology Without Becoming Programmers."

1990                 Penn State Conference on Rhetoric and Composition, State College. Participated in a workshop on Computers and Composition and presented a paper on "Invention with Computers."

1989                 University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Department of English. Conducted a two day workshop to train Instructors and Graduate Teaching Assistants to teach writing courses in the computer labs.
