cilia of the miracidium of Megalodiscus temperatus from the leopard frog, Rana pipiens.  The miracidium is ciliated, its means of locomotion in seeking its snail host.  These cross sections nicely reveal the 9+2 microtubular arrangement within the cilia.  Note that some cilia have single peripheral microtubules.  Note also those cilia have a lesser diameter.  As the cilia tapers to its end, the typical 9+2 loses its regularity. 75,000x.
