Rana pipiens. The miracidium is ciliated, its means of locomotion
in seeking its snail host. These cross sections nicely reveal the 9+2
microtubular arrangement within the cilia. Note that some cilia have
single peripheral microtubules. Note also those cilia have a lesser
diameter. As the cilia tapers to its end, the typical 9+2 loses its
