Life Cycles
I would like to acknowledge my daughter Meghan Petrucci for her
contribution to these pages. Meghan is a1999 graduate of California
University of Pennsylvania with a degree in biology. She was a student in
three of my classes, including Parasitology. She was chosen as the
outstanding woman graduate her senior year. She is extremely creative and
offered to make these drawings, assisting me in depicting these life cycles.
These drawings are meant in no way to demean the seriousness of these parasites,
but instead are designed to help students understand the life cycles, injecting
her creativity. She grew up loving The Cat in the Hat and has incorporated
The Grinch in many of the drawings. Jaws was a favorite movie of hers as a
child and is also represented. My college fraternity is included.
Even I appear as a victim of the assassin bug.
