anterior end of the adult Clonorchis sinensis, revealing the oral sucker, acetabulum, meadering
uterus and unbranched caeca. The genital pore is located at the point
where the uterus ends. 30x
This is an enlarged view of Clonorchis sinensis at the midbody showing the tri-lobed ovary with the
seminal receptacle (elongate with clear area around it). The large,
branched structure to the left is one of the testes and the two pairs of narrow
lines at the top and bottom of the field are the caeca. In the upper
portion of the photo, a fine line can be seen crossing the caecum at an oblique
angle. That is the vitelline duct, leading from that side of the body.
To the far right, the brown structure is the uterus, filled with recently-formed
egg capsules beginning the journey to the uterine pore near the anterior end.
